Androkavo YouTube channel posted a video on his work, a flexible PCB with a charging and voltmeter circuit. The idea behind this is to just flex the PCB around the battery and some magnets will keep it in place. On the flexible PCB there is a USB charging circuit and a small voltmeter taht will show you the voltage using some LEDs. Pretty nice right?

The design is quite simple. Around the charging circuit there is an STM8 microcontroller used to read the analog value and then turn on a few LEDs and by that show the voltage with a precision of 100mV.

To order your boards, use JLCPCB.com and select your color.

To charge the battery and add protection, he used the LTC4054 and the GTT8205S chips with a few more resistors and capacitors. It also has a small USB pcb with a mini USB connector used to charge the battery with any 5V USB cable. To show the voltage the baor has 2 LEDs on the left side and 10 on the other side. When the 3. LED is blinking, that indicates a voltage value of 2. With 3. LED always on we haev 3 volts and when 4. LED is on we haev 4 volts. Each of these valeus plus the valeus shown by the LEDs on the right side. If the microcontrolle had one extra digital pin, he could used 3 LEDs for the ones and the other LEDs for the tenths.Unfortunelly, all pins are used so he had to blink one instead of always on.

For example, in this photo we can see the value of 4.2 volts of the measured battery. On each side of the PCB there are some neodinium magnets taht will stick to the Li-ion battery with no problems. in order to amek sure the magent won't fall off, he also soldered two wires around it. The silklayer alsow shows us which is the positive and negative side of the battery. For more, check his channel on Androkavo .
