I don't know what are the  2 extra potentiometers (other than joystick) doing there...i know they make up the analog readings and hence are connected to analog pins of the arduino board..but i fail to understand why..and also the toggle switches...i know they give 0 and 1s but why are they connected at all..

4 potentiometers for yaw, throttle, roll adn pitch. Then 2 extra toggle switches as 2 extra channels. You don't have to add those if you don't want. I use those for mode select. For example. Toggle 1 for horizontal mode adn toggle 2 for angle mode. The extra potentiometer could be use for a LED dimmer on the drone/plane.
