I need some help for my new project. I want to build a RC car with 4 hub motors. I want to Control each Motor seperately with an Arduino Uno. So far so good. I purchased 4 brushless and sensoreless 4112-320KV Turnigy Multistar 22 Pole Brushless Multi-Rotor Motor. I want to increase the torque in the low or no rpm range by making it to a sensored motor. So here are my questions:

1.) I want to place 3 Hall sensor switches with an angle of 15 degrees outsde of the outrunner turning "housing". Do Hall sensors catch enough magnetic field to detect the Motor position? Or do I have to place them inside directly to the magnets?

2.) Since between each sensor is just 15 degrees, I guess the sensor position needs to be very accurate. Do you think this is possible?

3.) Does somebody know what the specification of a commercial brushless sensored ESC concerning the sensor input is? I there a "usual" pin assignment? What is the required input voltage?

1. I can't say directly, you have to make tests. But, in any way, you would haev to amplify the hall sensors line K did in my SENSORED ESC tutorial. And with that you might get good signals.

2. The degrees of the sensors is given by the amount of poles. If the motor is big, you could easily palce the sensors at 15ยบ

3. Usually sensor signals are 5V.
