Do you have anything connected to the TX and RX pins while programming? It looks like the Arduino can't be reached and it can be for 2 things: you have something connected to TX and RX pins or the Arduino is damaged.

pls see my email reply to this, sent just now, , certainly not related to TX/Rx pins.

emailed:  it programs when i select the old bootloader,, AND it doesnt seem to care re the  "Programmer" selection in 'Tools'..

 - I tried various choices, it didn't seem to make a difference! The default seemed to be USBTiny ISP

  • What should it be set to?

  • Can I please have a photo of the loaded pcb, as made for the CNC project.

Its a pity that the .png of the schematic just has lots of node points, & not the full schematic, wired pin to pin;
I can reverse engineer the pcb but would prefer the easier / quicker solution of a full schematic,
preferably the actual schematic file.

  • Could you please post, for all concerned, a photo of the loaded pcb, as made for the CNC project.
  • Its a pity that the .png of the schematic just has lots of node points, & not the full schematic, wired pin to pin; If i am understanding the .png schematic, why does the Dir_Y pin on U2, the LCD Nano, seem to be wired to the Dir Y pin on the Motor Nano, U1, pin9 (D6) ? (and then this junction wired to the driver chip, A4988).

  •

my above texts seems to have multiple duplications.

I would like to add that i get it now re Dir pins wired to LCD.. to subtract or add to the mm travel count. Wasn't readily apparent! If i could understand this strange code stuff i'd be more 'in the know'.
